Clinical evaluation of the analgesic properties of zomepirac sodium (Zomax^(®))

Abstract

|
Zomepirac is not sturucturally or pharmacologically related to narcotic agonists or antagonists. 55 patients with various painful conditions were treated with 300mg of zomepirac sodium daily for 7- to 10 days. Over all alleviating rate was 80 per cent. Remarkable responses were observed especially in patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis and muscle tension headache. We feel that zomepirac sodium should have considerable clinical utility as a first choice of analgesic.
